Palm oil is an edible vegetable oil derived from the reddish pulp of the fruit of the oil palms. The oil is used in food manufacturing, beauty products, and as biofuel. Unrefined palm oil is sometimes referred to as red palm oil because of its reddish-orange color. This oil is a staple in west african and tropical cuisines, and its especially well suited for curries and other spicy dishes.
